Welcome to The Ivanhoe Centre
The Ivanhoe Centre is a purpose built Community Resource Centre operated and administered by Conisbrough Community Association Ltd; a non-profit making charitable company. The Centre is located adjacent to the Conisbrough Health Centre, housing both local doctors practices and pharmacy
Situated in the heart of Conisbrough near Doncaster it is easy to get to via bus (three bus routes passing the Centre on a regular basis), car or train.
The Centre is established on a large area of grassland which caters for the sporting activities of local people and a multi use games area (MUGA), a children's play area and youth shelter. In addition there is a car park for 56 parking spaces and two bays specifically marked out for disabled users. This is well lit and well maintained.
As stated the building is purpose built and disabled user friendly with a lift available to access the upper floor. The building is currently undergoing a makeover to make it more secure and at the same time more welcoming. This is as a result of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council granting the Centre funding for which we grateful and acknowledge their continuing support in the development of the Centre.
All rooms within the Centre are available to hire for events, such as weddings, funeral lunches, birthday parties, corporate meetings, theatrical shows and band practice.
The Centre boasts a full weekly activity schedule including Parents and Tots sessions, Painting Group, Qi Gong (exercise class), Weight Watchers, Bingo, Yoga and regular PACT meetings to name a few. It delivers numerous activities and events or been the focal point of events organised by other groups and organisations, as a result it has built up a reputation for delivering on time and within budget together with a reputation for having a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Special Events are held throughout the year here at the Ivanhoe Centre for example: live music, theatre shows and craft fairs. Keep a look out on the Special Events section.
The Centre has a large and structured network of contacts within the immediate locale, the wider borough infrastructure and voluntary sector which allows us to publicise our activities via these contacts.
